IUB Chief Security Officer Arrested for Carrying Ice Drugs, Explicit Videos of Female Staff and Students

In a shocking development, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) of Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), Syed Ejaz Hussain Shah, was arrested by the Baghdadul Jadid police for possession of illegal drugs and explicit content featuring female university staff and students. The arrest was made after officers intercepted a vehicle at a checkpoint, and during the subsequent search, they found crystal meth and aphrodisiacs in the suspect’s possession.

The incident unfolded when the police signaled a car to stop at a checkpoint, but the driver attempted to flee upon seeing the officers. However, the vigilant police managed to stop the vehicle, leading to the discovery of 10 grams of crystal meth and aphrodisiacs in Shah’s possession. The suspect was identified as the CSO of IUB and was residing in Muhammadia Colony, Bahawalpur.

Subsequently, during the investigation, it was revealed that Shah’s mobile phones contained a considerable amount of objectionable videos and pictures of women, including female officials from various departments of IUB and students. This discovery raised serious concerns about the security and privacy of the university’s female personnel and students.

In a shocking admission, the suspect reportedly confessed to using and selling crystal meth. He also acknowledged that the explicit content found on his mobile phones was indeed related to the university’s female staff and students. The police promptly filed a First Information Report (FIR) against him, detailing the charges based on the evidence they had collected.

Baghdadul Jadid Station House Officer, Abid Hamid, explained that the search and arrest were carried out based on specific intelligence-driven information, and it was part of their ongoing efforts to eradicate drug peddling from educational institutions. The incident has sent shockwaves across the university and the community, as it involves a high-ranking official entrusted with ensuring the safety and security of the campus.

When approached for a response, the Islamia University Bahawalpur spokesperson, Shehzad Khalid, did not provide any comments despite repeated attempts by news outlets. The silence from the university’s administration has left many concerned about how such a serious issue is being handled internally.

It has been learned that Syed Ejaz Shah, the accused CSO, had been employed by the university several years ago, during the tenure of the former vice-chancellor. The university’s official website still lists him as the CSO, which raises questions about the university’s hiring and vetting processes for such critical positions.

The incident has sparked outrage among students, faculty, and parents alike. Many are demanding a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure justice is served, and measures are put in place to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. The safety and well-being of students and staff should be of paramount importance for any educational institution.

This incident also underscores the importance of implementing stringent background checks and regular monitoring of employees, especially those in positions of authority and responsibility. Universities and other educational institutions must adopt proactive measures to prevent such misconduct and maintain a safe environment conducive to learning and personal growth.

It is crucial that appropriate actions be taken swiftly to uphold the principles of justice and accountability.
