Imran Khan’s wife writes letters to PM, Punjab CM about threat of police operation during Eid holidays

LAHORE: Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, on Friday wrote letters to the Prime Minister Office and interim Punjab chief minister against possible police operation in Zaman Park during the Eid holidays.

The sources said that the former first lady wrote one letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab interim Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and expressed serious concerns about the safety and security at her home in Zaman Park.  She said that they had confirmed information that the police would launch operation inside Zaman Park during the Eid holidays.

Bushra informed both the officers that she would approach the superior courts if the operation was launched against Zaman Park this time again.

She wrote the letters a day after the Lahore High court turned down her plea challenging possible operation in Zamna Park.

Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh rejected the plea and imposed Rs100,000 as fine on her counsel, observing that the plea was a waste of time.

Bushra bibi had submitted before the court that the police attacked Zaman Park on March 18 and vandalized the house and now they could launch another operation during the Eidul Fitr holidays.,

Imran Khan had earlier expressed concerns that the police could launch the operation at his residence in Zaman Park–

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan foresaw a police operation at his Zaman Park Lahore residence.

“Despite the court orders, the Punjab police conducted operation in Zaman Park,” said the PTI Chief while pleading before the court.

He said he was worried that the operation may lead to bloodshed.
