The PTI Chairman asks the party workers and supporters to take out to the streets for real freedom and supremacy of the Constitution tomorrow at 5:30 pm
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan asked the party workers and supporters to take to the streets by 5:30 pm tomorrow to express support for his cause of “real freedom” and “supremacy of the Constitution”
Imran Khan expressed disappointment over the damage caused to the public and private properties during the days he was arrested. However, he regretted over the performance of the incumbent National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman.
He said he [NAB chairman] issued arrest warrants for him and his wife which was very painful for him. Imran Khan expressed these words while addressing the party workers and supporters via party’s YouTube link on Saturday.
The PTI chief said that he was booked in 145 cases but he never thought to run away from the country. He also regretted that the establishment was standing with the people who had their money abroad and if the dollar was going up there would be no benefit to the poor people.
Imran Khan also responded to the ISPR’s statement, saying that he was not dual face and nor his party. He stated that acceptance of positive criticism was important for the reforms of the system. He made it clear that strict action against any political party could not bring any relief or positive change.
He also announced to start election campaign against from the Wednesday.
Khan once again told the people that the freedom could not be achieved without the sacrifices. He also addressed the police officers to fear of Allah Almighty and refuse to accept unlawful orders from the “handlers”.
“I know the handlers also call the judges of the courts and hand them over the files. The judges should ask them for their calls and stop listening to them. I also ask the journalists to take stand and not to hear them. Because the time has come,” he added.
He stated that he received orders from the court but despite that he was asked to stay there for hours.
He also explained Al-Qadir Trust case, saying that he and his wife were not the beneficiaries of the project. The cabinet, he said, gave its approval.
Talking about the violent protests, Imran said that he was behind the bars and was not aware of what happened. However, he regretted over the violent protests and distanced himself and his party from such kind of protests.
“I want fair investigation of all the events that took place after my arrest. Who set these buildings on fire? Why the youths of his party were shot injured? And I want the CJP to constitute a committee for investigation of all these violent protests,” said Imran.
He said, “I knew who wanted anarchy and who got benefit of it. They arrested thousands of our party’s workers,”.
He showed a video that the vandals were not the PTI workers who carried out violent protests in different areas. He questioned that who did firing because no one from the PTI did so, saying that he never allowed violence ever since they came into the power.
The former prime minister also rejected the propaganda against his party.
“They started calling “Sharpasand” to the PTI workers and I knew who fed the TV channels,” said Imran Khan, adding that the handlers did not know the way how to feed the TVs because they sent the same content to all the TV channels.
Talking about Imran Riaz Khan, the PTI chief questioned about his whereabouts.
“Imran Riaz Khan was picked up because he was not following their [PDM] line. I fear he could be subjected to torture. I know where he has been kept. If anything happens to him these people who killed Arshad Sharif or attacked me would be responsible,” said Imran Khan.
Imran Khan said that the reaction still was small and could have been more. He stated that the overseas Pakistanis also strongly reacted to his arrest despite that the PTI did nothing there.
“Here they controlled the people but the overseas Pakistanis protested,” said the PTI Chairman, adding that he was the witness of the tragedy of the East Pakistan. He stated that they controlled media when the East Pakistan tragedy happened.
He regretted that the important decisions were made in the closed rooms, adding that Hamood-ur-Rehman report was written but was not published rather it was published in India.
He stated that the international media was witnessed how he [Imran Khan] defended the army during the difficult times in the past. He also claimed that the image of the institution also went up [improved] during tenure of his government.
