LAHORE: Imran Khan, former Prime Minister and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has called for the repatriation of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid, Nawaz Sharif, and for both their names to be added to the Exit Control List (ECL) until the elections.
Speaking to PTI workers at Zaman Park, Imran Khan demanded that the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) stand firm in support of the Constitution, and that the nation would stage peaceful protests if the government were to violate the orders of the Supreme Court and the Constitution.
Imran Khan also spoke about the right of the people of Punjab to vote independently and criticised the current rulers for not organising the elections for the benefit of the nation, but rather to save their National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO). He accused politicians of having assets abroad and not caring about the inflation rate in the country, and claimed that they come to Pakistan only to loot the national exchequer.
The former prime minister also questioned why powerful circles were not paying attention to the deteriorated situation of the country. Imran Khan alleged that an assassination attempt was carried out against him by seven to eight individuals.
He went on to say that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leaders had excused themselves from dissolving the National Assembly (NA) before the budget, and that the rulers were only interested in implementing the London plan.
Imran Khan demanded that Nawaz Sharif be repatriated and that both his and Sharif’s names be added to the ECL until the elections.
Earlier, the former prime minister managed to get the protective bail in the mutiny case from Islamabad High Court.
