LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan demanded inquiry into sudden death of Station House Officer (SHO) Amir Shehzad due to cardiac attack on Monday.
Taking to Twitter, Imran Khan said, “We demand a proper inquiry into the sudden death of SHO Amir Shehzad, of a heart attack. He had registered the FIR of Wazirabad assassination attempt on me & was a critical witness in unearthing the conspirators behind this assassination plot being inquired into by the JIT,”.
In another tweet, the PTI chief said, “ The JIT record has also been tampered with. It is equally important to recall the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of FIA investigator Dr Rizwan as well as the deaths of Maqsood Chaprassi & all other witnesses in Shahbaz Sharif’s money laundering case,”.
The reaction came a day after Amir Shehzad who lodged FIR in the assassination attempt on PTI Chairamn Imran Khan in Wazirabad.
The cousin of the SHO said that he felt pain in his chest and was shifted a hospital but could not survive. He was the first investigating officer who had been investigating the assassination attempt on Imran Khan.
Imran Khan was attacked when his rally reached near the Wazirabad Allahu chowk and he received injuries on his legs. Later he was shifted to Shaukat Khanum hospital where he underwent the treatment. The then government of Punjab led by Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi constituted a joint investigation team to investigate it. Meanwhile, the federal government made another JIT. Later, another JIT was made in Punjab investigate the matter.
Imran Khan on several occasions accused that the evidences of attack on him were being tampered, and he showed distrust on the JIT made by the interim government.
