The report suggests a deliberate attempt to cover up illicit activities, pointing to the responsibility of Shahzad Akbar and Ziaul Mustafa Naseem for the loss of records. The missing correspondence with the UK’s National Crime Agency was confirmed by Asset Recovery Unit Secretary Manzoor Kayani. The report implies that the disappearance of records was intended to hinder the case investigation.
