- May 15 exams by FBISE to be held as scheduled, per statement by Controller of Examinations.
The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced that all exams scheduled to be held from May 11-13 have been postponed due to the prevailing situation in the country. The decision has been taken to ensure the safety of students and staff members during these difficult times.
According to the statement issued by the FBISE Controller of Examinations, Aqeel Imran, all exams on May 15 would be held as per schedule. However, the new dates for the postponed exams would be announced later.
This news comes after the Punjab Higher Education Department (PHED) announced the postponement of ninth-grade exams that were scheduled to be held on May 11 and 12. The PHED has also declared that all colleges and universities will remain shut for the next two days.
In addition to this, the British Council has also cancelled all exams scheduled across Pakistan on May 11, including Cambridge International, Pearson, University of London, ACCA, and IELTS.
This decision has been taken in light of the ongoing protests and violence in the country following the arrest of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan. The protests have resulted in the loss of at least four lives and have led to the army being called in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Baluchistan.
Meanwhile, in an effort to maintain law and order, Sindh has imposed Section 144, and mobile data services have been shut down for a second day. Popular social media platforms like Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook have also been disrupted.
The situation in the country is tense, and it is important for everyone to stay safe and follow the government’s instructions. Students who were scheduled to appear for the exams on May 11-13 should stay tuned for further updates regarding the new exam dates.
