Popular host and TV anchor Faisal Qureshi responded to what he said “unnecessary criticism” for speaking up against the issue of blasphemy on a live TV show.
Faisal Qureshi had said that the people who were involved in blasphemy must be punished openly.
“They are not being discussed as they should have been. Their faces must be shown for what they are doing. These people who are being punished under the blasphemy laws,” said the actor, calling them “pigs”.
The host was speaking up against the blasphemy on some website.
However, some people started targeting the actor for speaking up against the blasphemy. But many people came to defend Faisal Qureshi on the social media, with hashtag #we_stand_with_Faisal_Quraishi.
Responding to the criticism, the actor also shared a video message and said that “There is huge noise on Twitter but I don’t know. But when we did program on the dark web on the TV we received huge response and appreciation because we highlighted the blasphemy issue on the dark web,”.
He said, “They had all evidences to speak on this issue and a court had granted them issue to talk about it. And you are sending me “Shame on you, Shame on you” Brother, check the real problem that what happened. For God’s sake, why are you putting yourself in the sin. We admit that we are sinful people, we belong to dancing etc. Nobody wants blasphemy,”.
The actor said, “We did show because the children are being involved in this critical issue of blasphemy on that web. Please try to understand”.
