The Government Media Office in Gaza has sparked global outrage after announcing that prescription-strength Oxycodone pills were found hidden inside flour bags distributed as part of US and Israeli aid to Gaza. Local Palestinian residents say they discovered the powerful opioid tablets while preparing food from these aid supplies, raising fears that the flour itself may have been intentionally contaminated to spread addiction.
According to Gaza officials, at least four people have so far reported finding the addictive painkiller inside the aid flour sacks.
