DG ISPR Denies Rumors of Field Marshal Asim Munir Becoming President

RAWALPINDI: The Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has strongly denied rumors suggesting that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir intends to become the President of Pakistan.

In a detailed interview, the DG ISPR categorically rejected the speculation, stating, “These claims are completely baseless.” The comments came in response to political chatter following the so-called “Battle of Truth” and increasing online narratives linking the army chief to future political ambitions.

Lt. Gen. Chaudhry also criticized the political commentaries and analyses that emerged in the aftermath, asserting that such narratives are harmful to national stability.

Pakistan’s Strong Warning to India

When asked about Pakistan’s potential reaction to any Indian military aggression, DG ISPR issued a stern warning:

“This time, we will begin from the East of India… the response will start with a deep strike inside India.”

He emphasized that India must understand its own vulnerability and that Pakistan reserves the right to respond decisively and anywhere.

Interior Minister Also Denies Rumors

Last month, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also dismissed similar rumors, describing them as “completely baseless and harmful” to national unity. He condemned what he called a foreign-backed campaign targeting President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir.
