Cylinder blast in Karachi’s Lines Area injures 6 people
A cylinder explosion inside a house in Karachi’s Lines Area left six people injured on Thursday, according to rescue officials. The blast caused panic in the densely populated neighbourhood as residents rushed to assist the injured before emergency teams arrived at the scene. Hospital sources confirmed that the victims included three girls, two children, and one woman, all of whom were shifted to the burns ward of Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment. Medical staff stated that the injuries sustained were minor and that all necessary emergency aid was being provided to stabilise the victims.
Authorities said the exact cause of the explosion remains unclear, and an investigation will be carried out to determine whether the blast resulted from a faulty cylinder, leakage, or improper handling. The incident once again highlights the recurring threat posed by substandard gas cylinders widely used in residential areas across the city, with safety officials repeatedly urging residents to ensure regular maintenance and inspections. Further details regarding the cause of the explosion are expected after initial assessments by technical teams.
