Court Issues Non-Bailable Arrest Warrant for Aleema Khan in Nov 26 PTI Protest Case

RAWALPINDI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Aleema Khan after she failed to appear before the court in connection with the November 26 protest at D-Chowk.

The protest was called by PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan, demanding the restoration of PTI’s alleged electoral mandate, the release of detained party leaders, and the annulment of the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

During the hearing, Aleema Khan’s counsel sought an exemption from her personal appearance, citing difficulties caused by the blocking of her bank accounts, national identity card, and passport. The court, however, rejected the request.

ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah ordered that Aleema Khan be produced before the court by Tuesday, while directing that her bank accounts and identity documents will remain blocked until she appears. The court also issued notices to her guarantors.

According to court records, the case is registered at Sadiqabad Police Station and names Aleema Khan along with ten other individuals, who are facing charges related to the Nov 26 protest.

The development comes amid continued legal pressure on PTI leadership and supporters over protests held in the federal capital, as multiple cases linked to the demonstrations remain under trial in various courts.

The matter is expected to see further developments when the court reconvenes following the execution of the arrest warrants.
