China Praises Pakistan Army’s Role in Regional Peace and Stability
Beijing – China has lauded the Pakistan Army as a key pillar of stability in South Asia, calling it a “vital contributor to regional peace” during Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s high-level official visit to Beijing.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) held strategic meetings with senior Chinese political and military leadership, including Vice President Han Zheng and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The discussions focused on regional and global challenges, CPEC connectivity, and enhanced defense coordination.
China acknowledged the Pakistan Army’s “cornerstone role in resilience and stability” while reaffirming its commitment to a deeper strategic partnership. Both sides emphasized sovereign equality, joint responses to geopolitical challenges, and multilateral cooperation.
Strategic Military Talks
During meetings with top military leaders, including General Zhang Youxia of the Central Military Commission and other PLA officials, the COAS discussed areas of defense cooperation, counterterrorism, and enhanced institutional linkages.
Upon arrival at PLA Headquarters, General Munir received a ceremonial guard of honour — a symbolic gesture highlighting the strength of the Pakistan-China military relationship.
China expressed complete confidence in Pakistan’s armed forces and reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing operational interoperability between the two nations. Both sides agreed to increase joint training, intelligence sharing, and strategic dialogue.
