The Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azam Khan, passed away on Saturday. He was taken to a private hospital on Friday night when his health worsened. According to Shabbir Shah, the spokesperson for RMI Hospital, Azam Khan was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a critical condition, suffering from various illnesses, including a heart problem. Family and officials confirmed that he passed away at 10:25 am on Saturday.
Azam Khan’s funeral prayer is scheduled to take place in Charsadda at 3 pm. He had been serving as the caretaker Chief Minister since January 21, 2023, until his unfortunate demise on November 11, 2023. His appointment came after the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was dissolved on January 18, 2023, and he was chosen by Governor Haji Ghulam Ali.
Born in the village of Parrang in Charsadda, Azam Khan held a law degree from the University of Peshawar and had also passed the Bar at Law from Lincoln’s Inn College London. He started his career in the District Management Group after successfully passing the Civil Service Examination, eventually retiring from the position of Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
