Boy arrested in University of Lahore student suicide attempt case as police on Wednesday detained a young man in connection with the incident involving a female student who attempted to take her life earlier this month.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Ahmed Bilal, was arrested from Narang Mandi in Sheikhupura district, which is also the hometown of the injured student. The arrest was made as part of ongoing investigations into the circumstances that led to the suicide attempt at the University of Lahore.
Police officials said that the female student, identified as Fatima, wanted to marry Ahmed Bilal of her own choice. However, her family was reportedly opposed to the marriage and insisted that she focus on completing her education instead.
