Barrister Saif Accuses Maryam Nawaz of Rs10 Trillion Corruption in Punjab

PESHAWAR: In a fiery statement that has intensified political tensions between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, Adviser on Information Barrister Saif Accuses Maryam Nawaz of Rs10 Trillion Corruption. Speaking to journalists, Barrister Saif said, “The audit report makes it crystal clear — the Punjab government under Maryam Nawaz has failed to answer for serious financial mismanagement. Their silence is proof of ongoing corruption.”

He further alleged that the Punjab administration deliberately launches flashy development projects not for the people’s welfare but to secure kickbacks for those in power. “People are fed empty promises of progress while public money is looted in the name of development,” he remarked, adding that the audit findings only cover the first year of Maryam Nawaz’s tenure and more damaging revelations are expected soon.

“If this is what the first year looks like, imagine the scale of the scam when the rest of the accounts are opened. This is not governance — this is organised looting,” Barrister Saif warned.

His comments come amid an increasingly bitter war of words between the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the PML-N-led Punjab government. Barrister Saif has repeatedly criticised Maryam Nawaz for what he calls “opportunistic politics,” especially highlighting her response to the recent Swat incident. “Instead of focusing on genuine relief efforts, they are playing politics on people’s tragedies — this is unacceptable,” he said.

The KP adviser also reassured PTI supporters that the political storm over reserved seats poses no threat to the party’s government in the province. “Our government is stable and fully functional. We are not going anywhere,” he asserted confidently.

As the blame game intensifies and both sides continue to trade allegations of corruption and misgovernance, all eyes are now on how the Punjab government responds to these explosive claims — and whether more revelations will deepen the country’s already tense political climate.
