ASP Shehrbano leaves podcast midway after SHO’s call
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shehrbano Naqvi once again found herself at the centre of social media attention after a video clip from her recent podcast appearance went viral, sparking debate and criticism across digital platforms.
In the widely circulated clip, Shehrbano Naqvi can be seen receiving a phone call in the middle of a conversation during the podcast. After briefly checking her mobile phone, she informs the host that she is receiving a call, adding that it is from the station house officer (SHO).
Answering the call, Naqvi addresses the caller by name and her tone immediately turns serious. She is heard asking whether the suspect involved in the case has been apprehended. Moving the microphone aside, she tells the caller to wait and says she is heading to the location.
Turning back to the podcast host, Naqvi explains the urgency of the situation, saying that a murder has taken place and that she will return shortly. She then leaves the recording session mid-way.
According to the video, ASP Shehrbano returned to the podcast nearly an hour later and briefly shared details of the incident with the host before the discussion resumed.
The clip has since been widely shared on social media platforms, where it has drawn mixed reactions. While some users criticised the incident and questioned professionalism during a public recording, others defended the police officer, arguing that responding to an emergency situation should take precedence over media appearances.
ASP Shehrbano has previously remained in the public eye due to her presence on social media and public engagement, often drawing both praise and criticism for her conduct and visibility.
No official statement has yet been issued by police authorities regarding the viral clip.
