Shaniera, who is an Australian national and married to Wasim since 2013, also expressed her love for India, reminiscing about their four years in the country after their marriage. Shaniera expressed her yearning for India, reminiscing about the endearing term “Wasim Bhai” used for her husband despite not playing for the Indian cricket team. She shared her desire to take her children to Amritsar, their grandfather’s birthplace, as it holds significance for her.
“We stayed in India for four years after our marriage, probably more than we spend in Australia. I miss the way people love him in India. It’s really important to me to bring our children back to where their grandfather was born, Amritsar. I love that they call him Wasim Bhai despite not playing for India,” she said.
