ISLAMABAD: Like other parts of the globe, the Christian community is celebrating Easter today in Pakistan with religious enthusiasm.
Churches across the country are organizing special prayers and events that are being attended by many members of the Christian community. The administration has made special arrangements for these prayers and tight security measures have been taken outside churches.
Karachi’s Holy Trinity Church is hosting a colorful Easter celebration where carols related to Easter are being sung.
President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former prime minister Imran Khan, former President Asif Zardari, and PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz, Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman, caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and others have all extended their felicitations to the Christian community on Easter.
They have recognised the significant role of the Christian community in the progress of Pakistan and have assured them that security measures will be taken to ensure that they can celebrate Easter in a peaceful environment.
