Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party is celebrating 44th death anniversary of its founder and late Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto today.
The party will hold ceremonies in his honor including the main ceremony at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh in Larkana.
In a special message in connection with the day, PPP Chairman and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the former Prime Minister played a pivotal role in revolutionizing Pakistan’s political landscape and ushering in a new era.
He said “The presidential reference regarding the judicial murder of Shaheen Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto–the leder who gave Constitution to this country–has been pending for last 12 years but unfortunately the judicial system does not have a single minute time to hear Bhutto,”.
Speaker of the National Assembly, Raja Pervez Ashraf, also paid tribute to the late Prime Minister for his contributions to the country. According to a statement he made on Tuesday, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was responsible for introducing a consensus constitution and strengthening the country’s defense.
Moreover, the Speaker highlighted that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was an embodiment of the people’s aspirations, and his vision, life, and political struggle serve as a guiding light for current leadership.
