Ruling coalition demands SC full court for hearing of Punjab, KP elections case

  • Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah says that they hope that the top court will render such a great decision that will be acceptable to all the stakeholders.

Islamabad: The ruling coalition on Wednesday demanded that  the full court of the Supreme Court should hear the case of elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakthunkhwa.

They said that they had been making this demand for a long time, and it was the best way as all the stakeholders would be satisfy.

“We are here to get justice and we demand that the Supreme Court full court should hear the case of elections in Punjab and KPK,” said Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haider, the JUI-F leader, in Islamabad. Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah was also present there.

Maulana Haideri said that they came to the Supreme Court to get justice and hoped that they would get justice.

“The parliament makes laws while the courts interpret these laws,” said the JUI-F leader, adding that the parliament fulfilled its responsibility by the yesterday legislation.

Interior Minister said that the role of the Supreme Court is important for the rule of law as it is the institution which could maintain the balance in the system.

Rana Sanaullah said, “ In the past, there had been such decision that caused imbalance,”.

Indirectly referring to the SC decision about elections in Punjab and KPK, the interior minister said that there had been a division in the bench as some said that it was the decision of 2-3 and others were of the view that it was of 3-4 decision.

“Supreme Court’s decision cannot be an internal matter,” said the PML-N leader, adding that this confusion should come to an end.

The Interior Minister that a bill was tabled in the National Assembly which would be legislated on Wednesday (today) to stop the way of Baba Rehmat who was “Baba Zehmatay”. He said they hoped that the Supreme Court would render a remarkable decision which would satisfy all the the stakeholders.

“When two judges come face to face then it was imperative for the parliament to play its role. The parliament, at the right time, made this decision to save the judiciary,” he said, appreciating the parliament.

Rana Sanaullah said that if the elections of two assemblies held now and then the elections of three assemblies would be held and nobody would accept these elections.

Calling Imran Khan ‘fitna’, he said that he wanted to create chaos and anarchy in the country.

When asked if the coalition government was fearing of Imran Khan’s popularity he said, “Imran Khan doesn’t have popularity. This is just a propaganda,” said Rana Sanaullah, adding that his popularity would be exposed when the stage would be set.
