At an age when most students are still navigating the challenges of exams, Mahnoor has already established herself as one of the brightest minds of her generation. Her exceptional performance in A-Levels, combined with her record-breaking academic track record, has placed her in global headlines and earned her recognition as a rising star in the world of education.

What makes her achievement even more extraordinary is the comparison to the late physicist Stephen Hawking, one of the greatest scientific minds in history. Mahnoor, however, remains grounded despite the overwhelming praise. Speaking about her achievement, she said, “It is a pleasure to be compared to Stephen Hawking, but he was a renowned scientist, and I am still a student.” Her humility reflects maturity far beyond her years, showing that her journey has only just begun.

Mahnoor’s learning approach is unique and disciplined. She believes in focusing fully on one subject at a time, immersing herself in the details until mastery is achieved. This technique, she says, is what has allowed her to excel in multiple fields without burning out, a strategy that students worldwide could learn from.

Her academic records are staggering. She achieved 24 A grades in A-Level examinations, breaking multiple world records in a single attempt. Among the groundbreaking records set by Mahnoor are:

• Most A-Level subjects attempted and passed with distinction: 24 subjects, along with an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), all without repeating any component to artificially increase totals.
• Highest number of top grades in a single sitting: 19 A and A* grades, setting her apart from peers across the globe.
• First student to secure a total of 45 A grades combined with 11 A* grades at A-Level, in addition to her 34 A* grades in GCSEs/O-Levels.
• Highest combined total of distinctions in GCSEs and A-Levels: an unmatched 58 distinctions, which include 24 A-Levels and 34 GCSEs.

These achievements did not come overnight. At the age of 16, Mahnoor had already stunned the world by passing 34 GCSE subjects, including 17 with A* grades in Year 10 alone. By the end of her O-Level and GCSE journey, she had amassed 34 A* grades — a record many thought impossible.

Her achievements have not gone unnoticed. She has been honored by political leaders and celebrated in both Pakistan and the United Kingdom. In recognition of her accomplishments, she was invited to meet then-Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif at Stanhope House. During the meeting, she was gifted a MacBook as a token of appreciation for her contributions to Pakistan’s academic pride.

But Mahnoor’s brilliance is not confined to academics alone. Her talents span across music, public speaking, and performing arts. She holds the AMusTCL diploma in music, equivalent to a graduate-level qualification, making her one of the youngest achievers in this field. She has also won gold medals in acting and public speaking, proving that her talents are as diverse as they are exceptional.

Incredibly, she completed her Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) in just 10 days, securing a perfect 100% score, something few students could even imagine attempting. This showcases not only her intelligence but also her determination, discipline, and ability to handle pressure with remarkable calm.

Mahnoor’s journey began in Lahore, where she attended a private school before moving to the UK. She continued her education at Langley Grammar School in West London, later joining Henrietta Barnett School in Central London. Eventually, she transitioned to homeschooling in her final year, a move that gave her the flexibility to pursue such a demanding academic path.

Her family has been an important source of inspiration. She is the daughter of Barrister Usman Cheema and Tayyaba Cheema, both of whom studied in the UK at prestigious institutions such as Lincoln’s Inn and SOAS. Their emphasis on education, combined with Mahnoor’s own passion for learning, has shaped her into the prodigy she is today.
