Govt ready for dialogue with Imran Khan, says law minister

ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said that the coalition government, an alliance of 13 parties, is ready to hold a grand dialogue with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Addressing a press conference, the PML-N leader said that government was read for talks if PTI Chairman Imran Khan shows a willingness to bring down the political heat.

Tarar said Imran Khan should send two people from his side while two people from the coalition government will sit together to discuss the important issues facing the country.

The law minister the PTI did not try to mend the relations with the opposition during their four-year tenure.

The federal minister also said that Pakistan is facing serious economic and security challenges as well as political upheavals, which require unanimous views among all the stakeholders.

“The democratic process is successfully continuing in the country and we should refrain from paving way for any undemocratic third option,” he added.

The federal minister said that the simultaneous election for the national and four provincial assemblies is the only viable option to bring political and economic stability to the country.

He said added that a digital census was underway in the country and its findings will also be compiled in the next few weeks.
