RAWALPINDI – Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki was martyred and seven other soldiers sustained injuries during an encounter with terrorists in Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan, said ISPR.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that intense fire was exchanged between the two sides. It said Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki was martyred “while leading the encounter from the front” while seven others were injured, including two who were critically wounded.
The military’s media wing said Brigadier Barki and his team “put up a valiant resistance against the terrorists during the encounter and the officer sacrificed his life for peace of the motherland”.
“Defence forces of Pakistan and intelligence agencies pledge to reaffirm and demonstrate firm resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism from every inch of the country,” the ISPR said.
Earlier, three terrorists were gunned down and as many soldiers of Pakistan army martyred in an exchange of fire in Khutti area of DI Khan district, said ISPR on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, three Pakistani soldiers were martyred and as many terrorists were killed on the night of March 20, as a group of militants opened fire on a police check post in the general area of Khutti, DI Khan District.
