Pakistani test cricketer Sami Aslam finds success in the US
Former Pakistani Test cricketer Sami Aslam has shared that he is content with his decision to pursue a cricket career in the United States. In a YouTube vlog, Sami revealed that he currently lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he owns a luxurious house in the same neighborhood as some of the world’s top businessmen, including Tesla and Twitter’s owner Elon Musk.
Sami Aslam is not alone in his decision to emigrate to the US for better opportunities as other cricketers, such as Test cricketer Ehsan Adil and international cricketer Hammad Azam, have also made similar moves.
Sami Aslam, who played 13 Tests and four ODIs before being dropped from the national squad, said he always dreamt of playing cricket and got a good opportunity in the US. Although he wanted to play for Pakistan, he did not get many opportunities there, which led him to seek better opportunities elsewhere.

In 2020, Sami started a new chapter of his cricket career in the US as a professional cricketer. This year, he will be playing for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings’ team (Texas Super Kings) in the inaugural edition of the Major League Cricket (MLC).
Sami is excited about playing in the MLC and sees a lot of opportunities for cricketers in the US. He said that despite the perception that less cricket is played in the US, there are plenty of franchise cricket opportunities available throughout the year.
“People think that less cricket is played here. There are numerous opportunities for us here as we engage in franchise cricket throughout the year.
Sami’s decision to move to the US is not unique. Many cricketers from countries where cricket is not as well-established as it is in India, England, Australia, and South Africa are increasingly looking for better opportunities abroad.
