“PTI faces leadership uncertainty in the wake of Imran Khan’s arrest”
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Asad Umar on Tuesday condemned the arrest of party chief Imran Khan and announced that a committee would announce the next plan of action.
The senior PTI leader took to Twitter and said that “Pakistan’s biggest political leader arrested after attack on the high court. The whole world is shown that there is no law left in the country.”
Asad Umar said that the PTI’s six-member committee, formed by Khan would announce the next plan of action. He said that the PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi will chair the committee.
Reacting to the arrest of party chairman, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi urged the entire nation to come out on roads against the “illegal” arrest of Imran Khan.
The protests have started taking place in different parts of the country after arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
The latest reports suggest that the PTI workers and supporters have started getting united at different cities including Lahore, Multan, Karachi and Peshawar. The public and private traffic stopped soon as the news flashed about arrest of Imran Khan in Islamabad.
The authorities imposed Section 144 in Islamabad and Rawalpindi amid the situation, and banned gathering of the people in the twin cities.

Earlier, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of the former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
The anti-graft watchdog issued a press release, stating that the former premier was arrested in Al-Qadir University Trust case on the charges of embezzling millions of rupees. The release further said that the PTI chief did not responding to the NAB notices, therefore the bureau arrested the former premier on May 9, 2023.
