Two Siblings Die After Eating Toxic Food in Sialkot, Two Brothers Critical
In a heartbreaking incident in Sialkot, two young sisters tragically lost their lives while their two brothers are fighting for their lives after consuming toxic food in Sialkot on Friday. The incident has left the local community in deep shock and raised serious concerns over food safety and hygiene in the region.
According to initial reports, Amana Bibi, wife of Mohammad Farid, prepared dinner for her four children at their home in Kotli Sekhia village, Daska. After eating the home-cooked meal, all four children — Ayat Fatima (7), Marba Farid (4), Mohammad Ayan (10) and Mohammad Rehan (14) — complained of severe stomach pain and began vomiting.
The children’s uncle, Mohammad Asif, confirmed that their health deteriorated rapidly shortly after dinner. The family rushed the children to Allama Iqbal Memorial Teaching Hospital in Sialkot in critical condition. Despite emergency treatment, the two sisters, Ayat Fatima and Marba Farid, could not survive and passed away at the hospital.
Hospital sources have stated that the condition of the two brothers remains extremely critical. Doctors are working tirelessly to stabilize them and prevent further tragedy.
Community in Grief
The news of the deaths has shocked the entire village of Kotli Sekhia and surrounding areas. Local residents gathered at the family’s home to express their condolences and support. Meanwhile, many are demanding a thorough investigation to determine what caused the food contamination.
Food Safety Still a Major Concern
Sadly, incidents like this highlight a persistent problem in many parts of Pakistan where food safety standards are often neglected, especially in rural areas. Whether the contamination came from tainted ingredients, unsafe storage, or accidental poisoning is yet to be confirmed by local health authorities.
Officials have urged families to take extra precautions when preparing and storing food during the hot summer months to avoid such tragedies.
Call for Action
This tragedy underscores the urgent need for greater public awareness, community education, and better food inspection mechanisms to prevent such heartbreaking incidents from happening again.
Local authorities are expected to carry out further investigations to establish the exact cause of the poisoning and to ensure that those responsible — if negligence is found — are held accountable.
For now, the people of Sialkot mourn the loss of two innocent lives and pray for the speedy recovery of Mohammad Ayan and Mohammad Rehan.
