TikTok Takes Action Against Over 18.5 Million Videos in Pakistan

TikTok, the popular short-video platform, took strict action against a huge number of videos in Pakistan during the last part of 2023, saying they broke its rules. The company, owned by ByteDance, said this in a recent statement, showing its strong commitment to stopping rule-breaking effectively.

According to TikTok’s statement, they focused on removing spam accounts and related content by using strong measures. They released their latest report on how they enforce community guidelines for the last part of 2023. This shows TikTok’s dedication to creating a safe online space for everyone.

Between October and December 2023, TikTok removed a massive 176,461,963 videos globally, which is about 1.0% of all videos uploaded. They used technology to find and remove 128,300,584 videos, and after reviewing, they put back 8,038,106 videos.

A big 95.3% of rule-breaking videos were removed within 24 hours of being posted, and TikTok managed to remove 99.5% of them globally during the quarter.

TikTok also deleted 19,848,855 accounts they believed belonged to people under 13 years old, as mentioned in the statement.

“TikTok’s Community Guidelines are made to make sure everyone has a safe, inclusive, and real experience on the platform. These rules are applied to all content and users equally, and TikTok aims to be fair and consistent in enforcing them,” the statement said.
