KARACHI: The employees of Pakistan Railways on Monday staged a protest demonstration due to non-payment of their salaries.
The Railways workers staged the demonstration at Locomotive Shed. They protesters said that they had not been paid for the month of February and they demanded the immediate disbursement of their salaries.
Railways Divisional Superintendent (DS) also assured the workers of the disbursement of their payments last week, but to no avail.
The protesting workers said that they need immediate funds to meet the both hands.
The departure of trains was disturbed by the protest demonstration. On which, the Railways administration held dialogues with the workers which turn out to be fruitful.
Railways DS Athar Riaz assured the protesting workers that their pending salaries will be disbursed soon. He said that the Karachi-Lahore Business Express train has been cancelled.
