The Orange Line train in Punjab has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing 100 million rides since its inauguration in 2020.
Li Chen, the CEO of the Orange Line Train System, has announced significant progress in the conversion of train stations to solar power. This move is aimed at making the train system more sustainable and environmentally friendly. Chen also praised the skills and dedication of Pakistani engineers, who have played a crucial role in the successful operation of the Orange Line project.
Umar Chishti, Deputy GM of the Orange Line Train, revealed that citizens are benefiting from a generous subsidy of over Rs. 7 per kilometer, making the train an affordable and preferred mode of transportation. To ensure long-term viability, the authorities are also focusing on reducing ongoing costs by initiating the local production of spare parts.

Following the triumph of the Orange Line, Punjab is now forging ahead with the Blue Line and Purple Line projects, further expanding the public transportation network in the region.
