PTI’s Yasmin Rashid Transferred to Cardiology Hospital from Lahore Jail

Lahore, Pakistan – Dr. Yasmin Rashid, a leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political party and a former provincial health minister, has been moved to a hospital in Lahore due to her declining health while in jail.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid was taken into police custody on allegations of being involved in an attack on the residence of Lahore Corps Commander during the riots that occurred on May 9. These riots were triggered following the arrest of PTI chairman Imran Khan in a corruption case. As her health condition worsened, she was quickly transferred to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).

While at the hospital, the former provincial minister underwent an echocardiography test and received a thorough medical examination by a team of doctors. After the test results came in and indicated that her health was stable, she was discharged and returned to the jail.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s health situation had prompted concern among her supporters and fellow party members. The decision to move her to the cardiology hospital was made to ensure that she received the necessary medical attention and assessment. The PTI leader’s health and well-being remain a matter of importance to her party and followers.

The incident has highlighted the broader issue of providing adequate healthcare to individuals in custody. Authorities are under pressure to ensure the safety and well-being of detainees while they are being held, regardless of the charges against them.

As developments continue to unfold, Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s case serves as a reminder of the challenges that can arise when balancing legal proceedings with the health of those in custody. The situation has also sparked discussions about the need for thorough medical assessments and proper care for detainees who may be facing health issues.

The PTI leader’s supporters will likely be closely following her case as it progresses through the legal system.
