PTI Chairman’s family ‘attacked’ in Islamabad

Barrister Gohar Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), made a claim on today (Saturday) that his family had faced an attack while he was attending a hearing at the Supreme Court regarding the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) plea challenging the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) decision favoring PTI in the bat symbol and intra-party polls case.

Upon receiving this information, the PTI chief promptly left the premises of the apex court. During a conversation with his colleague and party member Barrister Ali Zafar, Barrister Gohar expressed that his sons and nephews were subjected to physical harm.

“I’ve just received the news from home. Some individuals arrived in four double cabins and took away the computer,” he reported.

Barrister Ali Zafar pointed out that people had reached Barrister Gohar’s residence and assaulted his family members.

In response to the unfolding situation, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Isa remarked, “Whatever happened should not have happened.” He summoned the additional attorney general to the rostrum, expressing his displeasure at the news.

The additional attorney general assured the court that he would investigate the matter and then left the courtroom.
