PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami in talks to form government in KPK

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami have started talking again, hinting at a possible revival of their political relationship. They plan to meet in Islamabad later on Friday evening.

The meeting will bring together leaders from both PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami to discuss areas where they can work together. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Naib Emir, Liaquat Baloch, will be leading their side.

This renewed dialogue began after PTI leader Aamir Dogar contacted Jamaat-e-Islami spokesperson Qaisar Sharif to start talks. Dogar mentioned that PTI’s negotiation team, led by Asad Qaiser, wanted to meet Jamaat-e-Islami’s leadership.

Sharif added that PTI’s Sardar Latif Khosa also spoke to Jamaat-e-Islami’s Naib Emir, Liaquat Baloch, stressing the importance of cooperation between the two parties.

Khosa emphasized that PTI believed any partnership should extend beyond Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the federal level. He planned to meet PTI Founder Imran Khan first, then reach out to Jamaat-e-Islami’s leadership to keep communication open.

Baloch mentioned that communication channels between political parties were always open. Earlier, Liaquat Baloch had said that after the general elections, PTI leaders contacted Jamaat-e-Islami to discuss a joint strategy. Jamaat-e-Islami’s leadership formed a committee for this purpose.

The committee then talked to PTI leaders and shared their concerns about the elections, emphasizing the importance of respecting democracy and avoiding any forced changes to election results, which could harm the country and democracy.
