- In a Hindi film, Priyanka Chopra claims she quit because the director could “see her underwear.”
NEW DELHI: Priyanka Chopra shared yet another tale of the less than flattering aspects of working in Bollywood. Priyanka admitted to The Zoe Report that she once left a Hindi movie because the director wanted to show her in her pants in a specific moment.
Priyanka Chopra paid the production firm back after two days of filming because she called the experience “dehumanising.” While she didn’t specifically name the director or the film, she did note that it took place in either 2002 or 2003, when she was making her acting debut.
“I’m undercover, I’m seducing the guy — obviously that’s what girls do when they’re undercover,” Priyanka said on The Zoe Report. But you have to remove one piece of clothes at time, as I seduce the guy. I want extra clothing. No, I need to see her in her pants, the director said. If not, then why is anyone coming to see this movie?
According to Priyanka Chopra, the director spoke to her stylist who was in the room. “He didn’t tell me that. In front of me, he said that to the stylist. Such a dehumanising circumstance occurred. I had the impression that I was nothing more than a tool to be utilised, that my work and contributions were unimportant.
Priyanka Chopra abandoned the film after two days on her father’s advise and repaid the production company for her expenses. She commented of the director, “I just couldn’t look at him every day.”
Priyanka Chopra gave an honest response when asked by podcast host Dax Shepard why she left Bollywood, which opened a can of worms. “I was getting backed into a corner in the Bollywood business.
I had issues with individuals, I wasn’t very good at playing the game, and I was getting weary of the politics, so I told them I wanted a vacation,” the actress revealed on Armchair Expert.

In Citadel and Love Again, Priyanka was last spotted. But she will return to Bollywood with Jee Le Zaraa, directed by Farhan Akhtar.
