RAWALPINDI: The former leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) emphasized the urgent need to address the challenges facing the country, while also hinting at their potential return to the National Assembly (NA). They argued that the current government should not be left without opposition.
During a meeting with PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who is currently detained in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, the former PTI leaders, including Fawad Chaudhry, Mahmood Baqi Moulvi, and Imran Ismail, discussed their concerns.
In his first media appearance since dissociating from PTI, Fawad Chaudhry highlighted the importance of resolving the prevailing issues in the country. He attributed the crises to the government of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
Fawad Chaudhry stressed that the 250 million people of Pakistan cannot be left at the mercy of Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif. He firmly stated that the incumbent government should not be given a free rein without opposition.
Regarding the incident of vandalism on May 9, Fawad Chaudhry mentioned that actions against those responsible are already underway. He emphasized that their demand was also to release the activists and supporters who were arrested. He acknowledged the responsibility to ensure the release of these individuals from jails.
Furthermore, Fawad Chaudhry informed that they have had extensive discussions with both former and current PTI leadership. They sought to engage in detailed deliberations on the prevailing issues, hoping to find solutions to these challenges.
In conclusion, the former PTI leaders underlined the importance of resolving the issues facing the country. They expressed their concerns regarding the current government and stressed the necessity of having opposition in place.
