Pakistani mountaineer Shehroze Kashif sets new world record

Shehroze Kashif, a climber from Pakistan, has become the world’s youngest mountaineer to reach the summit of 11 peaks over 8,000 meters (26,247 feet) after successfully scaling Annapurna, which is the tenth tallest mountain on earth.

Annapurna is located in the Annapurna mountain range of Gandaki Province, Nepal, and is renowned for its challenging and dangerous ascent due to its elevation of 8,091 meters above sea level.

Kashif made the announcement of his successful climb on his social media pages, stating that he reached the summit of Mount Annapurna at 6:30 a.m. PST, making him the youngest person ever to climb 11 8000m peaks.

Kashif, who is 21 years old and from Lahore, started climbing at the age of 11, and has gradually climbed the two tallest mountains in the world, Mount Everest and K2. In 2013, he scaled Makra Peak, which stands at 3,885 meters (12,746 feet) and is located in Mansehra district. He also reached the summit of Broad Peak, which is located in Gilgit-Baltistan and has an elevation of 8,047 meters, earning him the nickname “The Broad Boy.” In August of last year, Kashif conquered Gasherbrum-1, which has an elevation of 8,080 meters and is the 11th tallest mountain in the world. Kashif is passionate about mountaineering and aims to set a new world record by reaching the summit of all 14 peaks over 8,000 meters.
