Pakistani Cricketers Being Trained by The Army for the Upcoming T20 World Cup

Pakistan’s international cricketers are participating in a two-week fitness training camp with the army to prepare for upcoming Twenty20 World Cup.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has selected 29 cricketers, including fast bowler Mohammad Amir and allrounder Imad Wasim, to attend the camp from March 26 to April 8 at Kakul, Abbottabad. Both Amir and Wasim have returned from international retirement and made themselves available for selection until the T20 World Cup in the U.S. and Caribbean in June.

Pakistan is gearing up to host New Zealand for five T20 matches next month and will also play T20 series in Ireland and England before the T20 World Cup kicks off on June 2. This training camp comes after the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League T20 tournament last week.

The PCB, in collaboration with the Pakistan army, has organized the camp to focus on team building and enhance the physical and mental strength of the players. The aim is to ensure that they are in prime condition to tackle the upcoming challenges.

According to the PCB, the training regime will encompass various aspects including fitness levels, agility, leadership, strategic thinking, and overall performance on the field.
