Pakistan Wins Seven Medals at Asian Junior Squash Championships 2025
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s young squash players have made the nation proud once again by winning a total of seven medals at the 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championships 2025 held in South Korea.
According to a press release issued by the Pakistan Squash Federation, the talented junior squad brought home two gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal in the main Asian Junior Squash Championships 2025, along with two more golds in the plate event — highlighting the depth of Pakistan’s emerging squash talent.
Medal Winners Shine Bright
In the main event, Muhammad Sohail Adnan clinched gold in the Boys U-13 category by defeating India’s Ayaan Dhanuka with a solid score of 11-5, 11-2, 11-13, 11-6 (3-1). Meanwhile, Nauman Khan bagged the second gold medal for Pakistan in the Boys U-15 final, overcoming fellow Pakistani Ahmed Rayyan Khalil in straight sets 12-10, 11-6, 11-2 (3-0).
Ahmed Rayyan Khalil secured the silver in the same U-15 final while Mahnoor Ali also earned a silver medal in the Girls U-13 category after a tough five-game battle against China’s Yin Z, with scores of 9-11, 11-6, 11-9, 9-11, 12-10 (3-2). Abdullah Nawaz brought home the bronze medal in the highly competitive Boys U-19 category.
In the plate event, Yahya Khan (U-17) and Muhammad Mustafa (U-13) added more golds to Pakistan’s medal tally. Yahya Khan defeated Chanyoung K of South Korea 11-9, 11-7 (2-0), while Muhammad Mustafa comfortably overcame Tse K C from Hong Kong 11-3, 11-8 (2-0).
A Sign of Squash Revival
The Pakistan Squash Federation celebrated the outstanding results, stating, “Pakistan Squash is back on track, and winning gold medals in mega events is a great achievement. We are proud of our young squash stars.”
This victory follows a positive trend for Pakistani squash, which has been working hard to reclaim its legacy as a powerhouse in the sport. Just recently, Pakistan’s Noor Zaman made headlines by winning the U23 World Squash Championship final — a feat that reflects the growing potential of the new generation of players.
