PTI General Secretary Omar Ayub has told all the winning candidates to stick with Imran Khan. He warned them to follow the party’s rules no matter what.
Ayub also told the candidates to stay loyal to Imran Khan, the Prime Minister. He mentioned that the party got a lot of votes because of Imran Khan.
Ayub thinks that PTI-backed independent candidates will form the government. He mentioned that all members will get instructions.
The main political parties in Pakistan are very close in the early results of the general election. The counting of votes was slow because the government stopped mobile phone services.
Omer Ayub Khan has won the election for the National Assembly constituency NA-18 in Haripur. He got 192,948 votes, according to the unofficial results from the Returning Officer/ECP. His closest competitor was Babar Nawaz Khan from the Pakistan Muslim League (N), who received 112,389 votes. The voter turnout was 49.88%.
