Investigators have ruled out poisoning in the tragic death of Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar, according to forensic findings shared on Thursday. The chemical examination report, conducted by Karachi University’s forensic laboratory, revealed that none of the nine samples submitted by police showed any signs of toxic substances. This development significantly alters the public narrative around her passing, which occurred under mysterious circumstances on July 8, 2025.
Humaira Asghar’s body was discovered inside her locked apartment in the Ittehad Commercial Area of Karachi’s Gizri neighborhood. The discovery was made after local police and a court bailiff forcibly entered the premises while executing an eviction order. Her landlord had filed a legal case citing unpaid rent dating back to April 2024.
According to neighbors, a foul odor led to suspicions, but a vacant adjacent apartment—empty since February 2025—may have delayed the discovery of her body. Police reported that both the main and balcony doors were locked from the inside, reinforcing the belief that she was alone when she passed.
The Humaira Asghar death investigation took a dramatic turn when her parents publicly alleged foul play, outright rejecting reports of financial distress. They questioned the circumstances surrounding her isolation and claimed that their daughter’s death was not due to natural causes. However, the latest chemical examination suggests otherwise, stating no presence of poison or drugs that could point to murder or suicide.
Humaira, born on October 10, 1992, in Lahore, was a multi-faceted talent. She began her career in modeling in 2013, collaborating with top designers before transitioning to television and cinema. She graduated from the National College of Arts with degrees in Fine Arts, TV, and Film, and later earned an M.Phil from Punjab University. Her film credits included roles in projects like Jalaibee (2015), and her stint on the reality show Tamasha Ghar in 2022 earned her national fame.
Outside of her entertainment career, Humaira was also a painter, sculptor, and fitness advocate. Her Instagram account, followed by over 715,000 fans, showcased her journey through art, wellness, and creativity. Interestingly, her last post was made on September 30, 2024 — a period when she appeared to be withdrawing from public life, though there were no visible signs of emotional distress.
As the investigation continues, police are also reviewing additional aspects, including her personal documents. It was earlier revealed that she had been using two separate national identity cards — a point that has added further complexity to her case.
