Kasim Khan urges authorities to provide proof that his father is alive
ISLAMABAD: Kasim Khan, son of former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, on Friday demanded that authorities provide proof that his father is alive, alleging that the former premier has been held in complete isolation for nearly a month with no contact allowed with family members or legal representatives. In a statement posted on X, Kasim said Imran Khan had been under arrest for 845 days and had spent the last six weeks in solitary confinement under what he described as “inhumane and unlawful conditions.”
According to him, Imran Khan has been kept inside a death cell without any transparency, while his sisters have been repeatedly denied access despite court orders permitting visitation. “There have been no phone calls, no meetings, and no proof of life. My brother and I have had no contact with our father,” he stated, insisting that what authorities call a “security protocol” is, in reality, a means to conceal Imran Khan’s condition from the public.
Kasim warned that the Pakistani government and “its handlers” would be held accountable at the legal, moral and international level for Imran Khan’s safety, saying the situation had raised grave concerns about the former prime minister’s wellbeing. He urged global human rights organisations, international observers and democratic bodies to intervene immediately and demand proof of life, enforcement of court-ordered access and an end to the solitary confinement he described as “inhumane isolation.”
His statement came a day after Imran Khan’s sister Noreen Khan and several party members staged a peaceful sit-in outside Adiala Jail, where authorities once again denied the family permission to meet him. Videos circulating online showed Noreen being dragged on the road by police during the protest, prompting widespread condemnation from PTI leaders and supporters.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi held a sit-in protest outside Adiala Jail on Thursday night before ending his demonstration and appearing before the Islamabad High Court on Friday morning. PTI figures said a new protest call would be issued on Tuesday depending on the situation at the jail, adding that a contempt petition would be filed in the Islamabad High Court today over repeated violations of visitation orders.
The party maintains that Imran Khan is being held in isolation for political reasons and continues to demand his immediate release, citing constitutional and human rights violations.
