India Unable to Digest Defeat by Pakistan, Says DPM Ishaq Dar

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11, 2025 — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that India’s political leadership is struggling to digest its defeat by Pakistan in the recent escalation following the Pahalgam incident.

Addressing the Pakistani community in Kuala Lumpur, Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan’s firm response, including the closure of its airspace after India’s actions and the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, left India’s narrative isolated on the global stage.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that while India’s propaganda failed to gain international traction, Pakistan chose economic diplomacy over aggressive rhetoric, countering misinformation with facts — just as it did during the Pulwama incident.

He dismissed allegations of diplomatic isolation, reiterating that Pakistan remains one of the biggest victims of terrorism and has consistently exposed India’s false narratives.

Highlighting events of May 6, 2025, Dar revealed that Indian fighter jets attempted to violate Pakistani airspace but Pakistani pilots were ordered to maintain restraint and avoid civilian targets unless national boundaries were breached.

“The world saw Pakistan shoot down six Indian aircraft that night,” Dar said, warning that Pakistan remains fully prepared to defend itself against any aggression.

Ishaq Dar also spoke about Pakistan’s behind-the-scenes diplomatic efforts during the Iran-Israel conflict, sharing that he stayed in constant contact with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to help de-escalate tensions.

He stressed that India can say whatever it wants but must accept that Pakistan’s strategic patience and firm diplomacy have proven stronger than Indian misinformation campaigns.
