Imran Khan requested ATC to suspend the search warrant for Zaman Park

PTI Chairman Imran Khan Appeals to ATC to Invalidate Search Warrant for Zaman Park Residence

Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has filed a petition with the anti-terrorism court seeking the cancellation of the search warrant issued for his Zaman Park house. In the petition, Imran Khan has named the Lahore commissioner, deputy commissioner, and others as parties involved.

The search warrant for Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence was obtained by the police from the anti-terrorism court on May 18. However, the petition argues that the warrant was obtained with malicious intent. It requests the court to declare the search warrant null, void, and illegal.

The court has issued notices to all parties involved and requested their responses to the petition. Imran Khan, on May 19, refused police and administration access to his residence and set conditions for the search. In a meeting, the government team provided the Zaman Park administration with evidence of alleged terrorists’ presence, including a list of individuals. Lahore Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa handed over this information to Khan.

According to the delegation, several fleeing terrorists were apprehended from Zaman Park, while some miscreants were aided in escaping. The PTI chairman’s Zaman Park house was scheduled to be searched by a team comprising both male and female police officers, with the search operation to be overseen by the Lahore commissioner.

The recent development involves Imran Khan’s legal action to challenge the search warrant issued for his residence. It emphasizes his denial of access to police and administration and asserts his conditions for the search. The matter is now in the hands of the anti-terrorism court, which will review the petition and responses from the involved parties.
