Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s nephew Hassan Niazi was booked in separate case in Karachi over charges of inciting people against the state institutions.
Jamshaid Quarters police station registered the FIR against Hassan Niazi and his accomplices on plea moved by a citizen namely Muhammad Iqbal.
According to the details, the police booked Hassan Niazi and others over charges of provoking the citizens through a video on the social media.
“The statement has created anger and distress among the public,” read the FIR.
The latest reports said that Karachi East police would leave for Lahore and Islamabad to take Hassan Niazi into the custody.
The development of treason case took place a day after the Punjab police secured transitory remand of Hassan Niazi in an attempted murder case. The Lahore police reached Quetta to take custody of the PTI leader.
Earlier, the Punjab home department wrote a letter to the Balochistan government and asked the government for cooperation regarding custody of Hassan Niazi, saying that he was booked in an attempted murder case.
Judicial Magistrate Kaleemullah had approved one-day transit remand of PTI leader Hassan Niazi.
PTI leadership strongly condemned the arrest of Hassan Niazi, saying that it was against the law as he was already on the bail. It demanded immediate release of the party leader.
A few days ago, Azhar Mashwani disappeared and it is not yet clear that who kept him, where and why. Fawad Chaudhary while addressing a press conference on Sunday said that Azhar Mashwani was still missing and they did not know where he was.
Arshad Siddiqui, another party activist of the PTI in Karachi, is also reported missing this morning. The PTI leaders strongly reacted to the development and strongly condemned it. They also demanded the authorities for immediate release of the activist.
