The PTI Chairman has moved multiple petitions in the Lahore High Court to seek protective bail in nine cases.
Lahore: Pakitan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan decided to appear before the Lahore High Court as his bail petitions were fixed for hearing on Friday (today).
The PTI Chief will appear before the LHC division bench comprising Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh and Justice Frooq Haider.
The latest reports suggested that the PTI workers and supporters would also accompany Imran Khan during his appearance before the court.
“Imran Khan will depart for Lahore High Court (LHC) by 3pm today from his Zaman Park residence,” said the sources.
Recently, police booked Khan in two different cases including the death of Zille Shah and violence against the police personnel who were part of the operation to arrest him.
Hundreds of PTI workers and supported thwarted teh attempt of the police to arrest their leader Khan in Thoshakhana reference. The whole area of Zaman Park turned into a battle field as the police and Rangers personnel used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the workers and the supporters.
The police continued to advance towards the residence of Imran Khan but the workers became wall between their leader and the law enforcers. The workers expressed joy over retreat of the police personnel and Rangers’ personnel who turned back due to Pakistan Super League 8 match.
The sources revealed that the PTI leadership decided to cooperate with the police and the relevant authorities for investigation into the cases registered against it on March 14 and 15.
Earlier in the day , the LHC barred the police from operation Zaman Park–the residence of Imran Khan.
