Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday thanked Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) over its strong position on upholding the Constitution and rule of law.
Taking to Twitter, the PTI chief, “I want to thank the SCBAP for their strong position on upholding of Constitution & rule of law. We appreciate your condemnation of excessive use of force by authorities at Zaman Park. My Party was founded on principle of rule of law & we continue to stand by this commitment,”.
In another tweet, Imran Khan said, “I am grateful to the LHCBA for passing a unanimous resolution in support of the constitution and holding elections within 90 days and condemning the excessive use of (state) force in Zaman Park along with the siege. I am also very grateful to the lawyers who marched to Zaman Park to show solidarity with us,”.
During the recent clashes in Zaman Park, the lawyers also extended support to the PTI by opposing the police operation. Earlier in the day, the Lahore High Court (LHC) also extended stay on police operation in Zaman Park.
