- In four cases, Imran Khan gives surety bonds.
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan provided surety bonds in four cases filed against him, three of which were at an anti-terrorism court (ATC) and one at the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The three ATC cases were registered at different police stations in Lahore following incidents of arson that took place on May 9 after Imran Khan’s arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the £190 million case. Advocate Habib submitted three bonds worth Rs100,000 on Khan’s behalf, which were approved by ATC Judge Ijaz Ahmed Buttar. Pre-arrest bail for Khan had already been granted in these three cases until June 2, including the case related to the attack on Corps Commander House in Lahore.
Following his appearance at the ATC, Khan proceeded to the LHC to submit surety bonds for the fourth case, which involves allegations of distorting and concealing evidence related to the alleged murder of a PTI worker named Zille Shah. The LHC had previously granted Khan pre-arrest bail in this case until June 2.
Before Khan’s arrival at the ATC, a petition was filed requesting permission for his vehicle to enter the court premises, citing concerns for his safety. The petition was granted, allowing Khan’s car, equipped with jammers, and other security vehicles to proceed from Zaman Park to the court.
Overall, Imran Khan completed the necessary legal procedures by submitting surety bonds in all four cases, ensuring his compliance with the bail conditions set by the courts.
