Grant Bradburn Returns to Pakistan Cricket as Head Coach

On Tuesday morning, Bradburn arrived in Lahore after being appointed as the head coach for the upcoming New Zealand series.  He previously worked as Pakistan’s fielding coach for three years before resigning in October 2021, citing family reasons and the pursuit of “further coaching opportunities”.

Bradburn expressed his happiness at being back in Pakistan and receiving a warm welcome, saying it is an honor to serve Pakistan again. He has previously visited the country in 1990 as part of the New Zealand team and worked with the Pakistani team and coaches for three years from 2019 to 2021.

Bradburn’s return to Pakistan has been met with enthusiasm from cricket fans in the country. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has also expressed their excitement at having Bradburn back on board.

After the ongoing recruitment processes are completed, the Pakistan Cricket Board will announce the team management for the post-New Zealand series. Bradburn feels honored and privileged to be serving Pakistan again and sees this as a wonderful opportunity to work alongside potential consultant Mickey Arthur and the Men in Green.

“I am eagerly anticipated to work with Mickey Arthur, as well as the team’s players and staff,” Bradburn said. Pakistan cricket has been in a state of flux in recent years, with the team struggling to find consistency on the field. However, Bradburn believes that there is a lot of talent in the team and is looking forward to working with them to make some real positive change.

Grant Bradburn concluded by saying that he is eager to work with the talented team and aims to positively influence them towards making significant changes.

However, there have been signs of improvement in recent months, with the team winning the T20 World Cup in 2021 and performing well in the subsequent series against Bangladesh and West Indies.

Grant Bradburn will have his work cut out for him as he tries to build on this momentum and take the team to the next level. However, he has a wealth of experience to draw upon, having coached at various levels of the game, including at the international level with Scotland.

Bradburn’s coaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of developing players’ skills and instilling a positive team culture. He is known for his ability to connect with players and build strong relationships with them, which could prove to be invaluable in his new role with Pakistan cricket.
