German Startup Freezing Dead Bodies for Future Revival

The idea of living forever continues to intrigue people around the world. Bryan Johnson, a 46-year-old CEO from Silicon Valley, claims to have turned back his biological clock by more than five years through an anti-aging regimen. Meanwhile, a start-up in Germany is offering a more daring approach to defeating death by providing cryopreservation services, with hopes of future revival when technology allows.

Tomorrow Bio charges $220,000 for full-body preservation and $81,000 for brain-only preservation. The process involves cooling the body to minus 198 degrees Celsius, effectively halting all biological functions indefinitely.

The company envisions a future where these preserved bodies can be revived and the causes of death addressed. Their mission which is stated on their website, is “to build a world where people can choose how long they want to live – independent of where they are, who they are, and their financial resources.”

Since its founding in 2020, over 650 people have signed up for the service, with the company already cryopreserving six people and five pets.

Co-founder Fernando Azevedo Pinheir explained that the company begins the cryopreservation process immediately after a person’s death. Specialized ambulances, available in various European cities, transport the bodies to the main facility in Switzerland, with standby teams in Berlin, Amsterdam, and Zurich ready to facilitate the process.
