Former Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan has passed away today in Lahore at the age of 89, according to a statement from the PCB on Saturday. Shahryar Khan’s health unexpectedly declined on Saturday morning, resulting in his passing. He is survived by his widow and four children.
Details regarding the funeral prayers for Shahryar Khan in Karachi will be announced soon, as his body is being transported via air ambulance to its final resting place.
Shaharyar Khan served as the PCB Chairman twice, first from December 2003 to October 2006 and then from August 2014 to August 2017. Furthermore, he served as the team manager for the Pakistan National Men’s team during the 1999 tour of India and also during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep condolences on behalf of the PCB, praising Shaharyar Khan as a dedicated administrator who served Pakistan Cricket with great commitment. Naqvi emphasized Khan’s significant contributions to the growth and development of cricket in the country.
